My Favorite Whale Recipes 

 What you need before beginning. a Blue whale ice cold and fortifying.

1 part vodka
1 part Blue Curacao liqueur
1 part orange juice
1 part pineapple juice
1 part sweet and sour mix
 
Pour ingredients over ice and mix in a shaker. Strain into a tall glass, and serve.

Remember when wokking whale ...start with a large wok!

Joint of Whale Meat Steeped in Red Wine Marinade


Whale Stew
Ingredients:

     1 (105 ton) Whale
     1896 lbs Onions
     7326 lbs Potatoes
     1908 gallons Tomato Sauce
     2276 lbs Carrots
     927 lbs Celery
     104 lbs Salt
     76 lbs Black Pepper
     52 gallons Tabasco Sauce

Directions:
Place whale in pot with tomato sauce. Cook at 300 degrees  for 4 hours. Add onions, potatoes, carrots, celery, salt, pepper and Tabasco sauce. Simmer 36 hours. Serves 347,161 people.

Whale steak with herbs  ........... 

Ingredients (for 4 persons)

ca. 600 g whale beef in thin slices
1 1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
8-10 soup spoons finely chopped herbs (various)
butter (for the frying)
caviar (for decoration)
fried potatoes
green salad, small tomatoes

How to prepare

1) Mix pepper, salt and herbs and marinate the slices of meat in this mix just before frying

2) Fry the slices in butter in the pan; approximately 1 minute on each side

Decorate with caviar, serve with fried potatoes and salad.

Whale Pie  .... from Slow Cooking ...

20 oz Whale meat
One bay leaf
1 Stalk celery
6 Peppercorns
1 tb Salt
1/2 c Butter
1/2 c Flour
1 c Light cream
1/8 ts Pepper
1/4 ts Salt
One 1 pound can pearl onions
1 4 ounce can sliced mushrooms
1 pk Frozen peas
2 cn Pimentos, sliced 1
Box pastry mix

Cut the whale meat up, and place in a large kettle and cover with water (or use slow cooker). Add bay leaf, celery, peppercorns and 1 tablespoon salt. Bring to boil, cover and cook over low heat for 2 hours or until the meat is tender.

Melt the butter in a saucepan, add flour and stir until blended. Add light cream, pepper and salt. Cook stirring, until thickened.

Arrange whale meat pieces, onions, mushrooms, peas and pimentos in 2 quart casserole. Add sauce to within 1 inch of top.

Prepare the pastry mix. Cut pastry circle 1/2 inch larger than casserole and place over the whale-mixture, turning edge of pastry under and pressing to casserole with fork or spoon.

Bake in preheated 450 degree oven 15 min. or until crust is golden brown.

Serves 4 to 6 .
